Möhkö
Ironworks Museum
Tel. +358 (0)50 342 8825 / +358 (0)13 844 111
Möhkö
Ironworks Museum is a place for the whole family. Time goes
by unnoticed as one gets to know the history of
ironworks, war events and the time when Möhkö was
dependent on forest. The exhibitions are located in
ironworks mansion Pytinki and shop building Ambari.
Old
buildings and the park have the atmosphere of the past
times. Lemmenpolku path leads you to the surges of Möhkönkoski
rapids. The ruins of blast furnace, massive waterwheel
and unique, restored channels tell the stories of Möhkö
ironworks. Pytinki Museum Shop serves customers.
In
summer, Möhkö Ironworks Museum hosts many events. Among
other things, they provide an opportunity to
familiarise oneself with the newly revived traditional
iron manufacturing using a pig hut.
Come
and experience also the traditional Christmas of
Pytinki!
Ilomantsi
Museum Foundation is responsible for Möhkö Ironworks
Museum.
The area and the buildings are owned by Ilomantsi
municipality.
